Aaron is a licensed Mortgage Broker in both British Columbia (BCFSA) and Ontario (FSRA) and co-partner in Mobile First Mortgage Architects, the team behind RateDesk.ca. In 2002 he began his career in banking after obtaining a BA, Economics, from the University of Victoria. His focus soon shifted to real estate lending exclusively, where it has remained for the last 19 years.

Aaron became an independent mortgage agent during the financial crisis of 2008, the timing of which gave him a first-hand look at the important duty of trust that brokers carry for their borrowers. In 2012, he became a fully designated broker-of-record for an Ontario brokerage. After several years of witnessing a general trend of borrowers preferring to do online research themselves, he moonlighted with a cutting-edge website development company in 2015/2016. The aim was to gain insight on where technology, specifically as it relates to real estate/finance, is headed. Now, still believing that mortgage research is something that can and should be done online, Aaron is more than ever convinced that borrowers value solid advice from an accountable broker. When it comes to meeting his clients' expectations, he’s guided by the adage "Well done is better than well said."

In 2014, after a decade in Ontario, Aaron returned to Vancouver Island with his wife Trisha and their three young children. In his spare time, you can catch Aaron obsessing over economic news, stacking firewood, and chauffeuring around the island for local sports teams.
